We've reserved a space where to put a repository for Debian 64 bit and for i386 (at least for now); by the moment, you will find the following packages at the following LINK
To make use of the service, you just have to add: deb http://debianclan.org/repository sid main non-free contrib deb-src http://debianclan.org/repository sid main non-free contrib to your /etc/apt/sources.lst and update your package list using apt-get update. The packages have been created by our user Darkbasic (to whom we would like to show our gratitude); if others are intending to participate, they just need to write to anyone who's in the staff, comment this news, or directly contact Darkbasic. I'd like to remind anyone that the repository is still in the early stages and that, thus, we won't take any responsibility about the damage it may cause. All ideas are welcome and, as I said before, we would really appreciate if you'll choose to make part of the project. Herod2k |

Vulnerability: predictable random number generator |

Discovered, and promptly fixed, a very severe vulnerability in the openssl Debian package. It regards our distribution in particular, and not the original software, so Debian and all Debian-based distros are afflicted by this vulnerability. As reported by this mail, the bug is about a predictable random number generator. The first consequence is the generated keys aren't secure, and the solution is to upgrade the package and generate the keys again. Sarge is not afflicted by this bug.
